Virginia Ann Smith Beach, 80, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, September 11, 2020, at Ravenwood Assisted Living.
Born Wednesday, January 3, 1940 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late George M. Burker and the late Georgia (Davis) Burker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Smith, second husband, Joseph Beach, brother, John M. Burker, sister, Muriel Shellhause.
She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1957. She retired from Bulldog Federal Credit Union after many years working in the banking industry. She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks and past member of the Sweet Adelines singing group and the Kiwanianne Club of Hagerstown.
She is survived by her daughter, Eelice A. Gantz and husband Rodney of Mercersburg, PA; son, Daniel W. Smith of Falling Waters, WV; three sisters, Beverly Hoover of Hagerstown, MD, Phyllis Brandenburg of Smithsburg, MD and Debra Sottile of Hagerstown, MD.
Services will be held Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 11:00 am, at the Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Stephanie Steele officiating.
There will be no viewing or visitation
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Western Maryland, 108 Byte Drive, Suite 103, Frederick, MD, 21702.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.

I had the sincere pleasure of working with Ann at Washington County National Bank...we had a wonderful relationship..she so helped me and our branch with all of our bookkeeping needs...She was awesome...I have wonderful memories of her...I am the last remaining employee of the original bank and am still with M&T Bank on Dual Highway..my email is email@example.com if you need anything..take care and GOD bless..so sorry for your loss

Eelice so sorry to hear about your Mom. I know it will be hard for a very long time, but you were lucky to have her for as long as you have. My Mom has been gone 46 years and it does get easier.
