Melvin Franklin Koons , 92, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away, Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the Williamsport Retirement Village.
Born Saturday, July 20, 1929 in State Line, PA, he was the son of the late George Clinton Koons and Rayetta Koons.
Melvin was employed with Darimaid/Harrisburg Dairies for many years and also with Mason-Dixon Dairy and last with a pharmaceutical distribution company based out of Cearfoss, MD. Along with his wife Betty, Melvin enjoyed his time as a antique dealer, he was also an avid New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by his wife Betty Ruth Koons; two sons, Todd Jerome Koons and wife Mary and Timothy Wayne Koons and wife Robyn; three step sons, Ronald Lee Coldsmith, Edwin Ellsworth Coldsmith and wife Elizabeth and Gary Eugene Coldsmith and wife Donna; step daughter , Dawndee Wilkes and husband Rod and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Koons; infant son, James Allen Koons; step son, Quinten Henninger Coldsmith and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Avenue Chambersburg, PA, with the Pastor Christopher Frye officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to , St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 .
