 Mark Christopher Russell, 51, of Bunker Hill, WV, passed away, Monday, January 27, 2020, at his home.

Born Monday, May 13, 1968 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the beloved son of Marlene Elizabeth Russell of Hagerstown, MD and the late Junior Arbine Russell.

He graduated from St. Maria Goretti High School in 1986 and attended Shepherd University for three years. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mark retired from MCI as a correctional officer. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Mark loved animals and over the years had several pets of his own. He also enjoyed teaching Hunter Safety classes for many years and was an avid Nascar fan.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his; aunt and uncle, Carole and Freddie Billmeyer; sister in law, Sharon Russell; cousins, Edwin Russell, III, Rebecca Huffer, Michael F. Billmeyer, James R. Canby, III, Todd A. Canby; nieces and nephews; a close friend, Conrad Burke; and Nikki, his nurse who provided great care. He also leaves behind his four legged companion, Cami.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John David Russell, Philip Michael Russell, and Ret. Col. Jay Stephen Russell; and aunts and uncles.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at 11:00 am, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to John David Russell Memorial Scholarship Fund at Shepherd University, 301 N King St, Shepherdstown, WV 25443 or to a charity of one's choice.
