Obituary

Lester Allison Bowers III, 75, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, September 2, 2022, at his home.

Born Monday, December 2, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Martin C. Bowers and the late Emily Gloria (Gilly) Bowers.

Lester was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School in 1965. Following high school, he served in the Armed Forces for 2 years. Lester was employed with UPS for 39 years and more recently worked at Weis and Lowes. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Webster B. Harrison American Legion Post 26 in Hancock. Lester was an avid collector of VW buses and bugs.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rhonda (Kentner) Bowers; children, Lester A. Bowers IV (Jodi), Angel V. Pearson (Michael), Anthony J. Bowers; sister, Hazel L. Farris; brother, Michael A. Bowers (Diane); grandchildren, Kenneth E. Pearson (Valerie), Shawn M. Baker Jr. (Chelsea Showe), Kayla A. Rivas, Hunter J. Baker, Jakob E. Bowers, Madison Gearhart, and Mitchell Gearhart; great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Mckinsey, Amiyah, Anna, Kira, Kayden, Jordan, Riley, and Braylon; several nieces and nephews; and family canine companion, Fez.

Memorial services will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, at 4:00 pm, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. David B. Kaplan officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
