Kurt Michael Cianelli, 62, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Sunday, November 7, 2021, at the Autumn Lake Health Care at Spa Creek.
Born Tuesday, April 7, 1959 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Donald J. Cianelli and Barbara (Fuss) Cianelli of Maugansville, MD.
Kurt graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1977. He was employed at Mack Truck, Inc. for several years and later at Fairchild Aircraft. Kurt was later employed with Orbital Science Corporation in Greenbelt, MD. One of his greatest accomplishments was being assigned to a NASA satellite launch in French Guinea.
Kurt was a member of Christ's Reformed United Church of Christ. Kurt enjoyed the Washington County Free Library, especially historical seminars presented at the library. He enjoyed viewing of astrological events and was an avid coin collector.
Besides his parents he is survived by his son, Benjamin Cianelli and wife Amy of Cumberland, MD; grandchildren, Emma Cianelli and Parker Twigg of Cumberland, MD; great-grandson, Sterling Twigg also of Cumberland, MD.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 11:00 am, at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Ken Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Washington County Free Library 100 South Potomac, Hagerstown, MD 21740..

Kurt was a classmate of mine at North Hagerstown High School. We shared an apartment in Funkstown in 1978-79. He was a good friend. My daughter Cathy was in classes with Ben (aka 'Roy') at WWHS in Burlington NC. God bless Kurt and your family. Mark

We were Kurt's long-time next door neighbors at 56 E. Irvin. We enjoyed having him there all those years because he was such a nice guy, and always looked out for us, as we did for him. He will be missed.
