My heart is broken as I read about an absolutely wonderful person who became my friend while working at Brethren Mutual. Arlene was one of a kind and always willing to help someone. She was a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen when needed. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this most difficult time. A beautiful soul has gained her wings and she will forever hold a special place in my heart.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I have shared so many fond memories and special times with them that will never be forgotten. I especially remember the time at Notre Dame in 1982 when her girl's team won Nationals. Arlene was standing in the tunnel with a bag of popcorn and when they were announced as National Champions that bag of popcorn flew everywhere. We could never have done it without Dave, Arlene and her beautiful girls! Miss Candy
Gina and Tina, thinking of you at this most difficult time. Was so shocked when I heard of her passing. We go back to high school days, will have to admit I’m a year older. May the memories you have keep her alive in your heart. Judy and John Raidt

Arlene and I had been friends and classmates since the first grade through beauty school. We lost touch after I was married and never forgot the great times we had growing up. We were in the great South High band and even roomed together at beauty school. I am so sorry to hear about her passing. May she rest in peace.

So many wonderful memories are going through my mind. Arlene and Dave were such an important part of the success of the WHS Blue Band when I was the director. They worked tirelessly to benefit the students. As a result, our families became wonderful friends. Our heart goes out to the family. You were blessed to have a very special lady as your Mom.
