To Dave & family, I extend to all of you my most sincere condolences. Jewel was a nursing classmate (Washington Co. Hospital School of Nursing) and I am so, so saddened to hear she’s passed away. Those years when we were student nurses we all knew each other so well, we shared our bad moments & had such crazy fun together in the dorm!—we became a small close knit group. Julie was such a sweet gal, smart, & we looked to her as the leader she was. In her career she was very accomplished & gave many years in service. Though I have not seen her much I just feel blessed to have had her in my life. She will always remain in my ♥️ I pray that our Lord will bless you & comfort you as you grieve her loss. I’ll remember her bright personality, wonderful laugh, & the kindness of her sweet spirit. She is now an angel. Take care & God bless you— Patty Cupillari-Humphreys

I am a Nursing School classmate of Julianne’s. I was shocked when I got the news of her passing. I have such fond memories of our years as students, and the family we all became. I remember our first reunion was at Julianne’s home and we had a blast. The last time I saw Julianne was at our 50th reunion in 2017. My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Dave, Kristen, Stephen and their families. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly, Sharon

She was always the example of compassionate professional nursing. During the years that I was a surgeon and administrator at the old Washington County Hospital she was an active member of leadership. She was also a mentor and educator of the next generation. Her passing is a great loss to our community, but I am confident her example will continue through the service of her many peers, friends, and students.

This is such a sad moment for me - I can’t imagine how the family must be feeling. I loved Julianne. We had such a wonderful time working in PACU together at Washington County Hospital, and we did this fir many years! She would take special time out of her days to cut out articles and send them to me after I moved to Florida. Always about the doctors and nurses and friends we knew from Hagerstown and at the hospital. We would check on each other about our children too, prayed and cried over them sometimes. What a wonderful lady she was/is and will always be to me. How did the years slip by so quickly and now you have moved to a new place and are sitting at the feet of Jesus the one we both spoke of and loved. I will miss you my friend.
