Obituary

Jeffrey Lynn Scuffins , 58, of Williamsport, MD, passed away, Saturday, March 20, 2021, at his home.

I had the pleasure of being Jeff’s track coach during his sophomore, junior, and senior years at North Hagerstown High School. I have many fond memories of coaching Jeff and getting to know his family. Dad, Mom, and sister were present at virtually every meet. During Jeff’s senior track season of high school my first son was only a few months old and Jeff’s mom made a miniature North Hagerstown track suit for him. Stacey, Jeff’s sister who was in middle school at that time, loved to hold him during the track meets. Jeff’s win at the State Championship Track Meet in the 3200-meter run was so dominant that the second-place runner was only a few steps onto the final straightaway when Jeff crossed the finish line. I’ll always remember Jeff as a hard worker, a leader by example, a solid teammate, and most importantly a fine person. One of the blessings I’ve had in my life was to know Jeff and his family. I hope his family is consoled by the fact that so many share in their grief.

Was so sorry to hear the very sad news. I spent a lot of time with Jeff as we were on the Track Team at HCC together and he always had the BEST outgoing, friendly, funny personality and had a Heart of Gold!! With Jeff around there was never a dull moment, He made me Laugh. I also saw him at First Data, and we would chat in the halls as we passed each other. The last time I saw Jeff was at a picnic I had at my home just a few years ago, and we had such a good time talking about our college days at HCC. My Sincere Condolences and Prayers to Jeff's family. He will be greatly missed.
