Janice Lorraine (Kershner) Spitler, of Williamsport, MD, passed away, Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born Friday, December 23, 1927 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Jacob Kershner and the late Isabel (Knodle) Kershner. She was preceded in death by her husband Neal Bauserman Spitler.

She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1945. She was employed with Leiter Brothers, Routzahn's, and most recently retiring from J.C. Penny's after 20+ years. She was of Lutheran faith. Janice enjoyed bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia S. Moats of Williamsport, MD, sister, Connie Daley of Hagerstown,MD, sister -in-law Jeanie Kershner of Smithsburg, MD, grandchildren, Shanna Banzhoff Lane and husband Joey of Mercersburg, PA Denver A. Banzhoff of Spring Valley, CA, Janeal U. Banzhoff of Spring Valley, CA great-grandson, Jeremy A. Jaramillo of El Paso, TX, great-granddaughter, Jeni Lane of Winchester, VA, great-granddaughter, Harley Lane of Hagerstown, MD great-grandaughter Jade Cynthia Banzhoff of Spring Valley, CA. She is also survived numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard Ray Kershner and William Kershner.

Services will be held Monday, November 28, 2022, at 11:00 am, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. David B. Kaplan officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, November 28, 2022, 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Interment will be at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County 1710 Underpass Way, Suite 300, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
