James Mitchell Beaver Sr., 83, of  Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, November 11, 2022, at his home.

Born Wednesday, November 16, 1938 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late George Chalmers Beaver, Sr. and the late Teresa Agnes (Murphy) Beaver. He was also preceded in death by his wife Vedah Louise Beaver.

He was 1957 graduate of Hagerstown High School, and later served in the U.S. Army. Jim was employed with Grand Union Grocery for 17 years and later with County Market. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Dawn McGuire and husband Shawn, sisters, Rose Thompson, Dottie A. Wiley and Delores C. Wyand, brother, David E. Beaver, Sr., grandchildren, Nicole E. Beller, Shawn J. McGuire, Jr., Brooke C. McGuire, Bethany C. McGuire and Ryan J. McGuire; and great grandchildren, Alysis, Ridge and Shelby.

James was also preceded in death by a  son, James M. Beaver, Jr., sisters, Helen E. Ruck, Marie C. Baker, Ellie Sirbaugh, Bernice C. Grandstaff, and Regina C. Beaver, brother, George C. Beaver, Jr.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 10:30 am, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD, with the Pastor Josh McClain officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.

Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 15 High Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
