James E. DuVall, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Thursday, June 10, 2021, peacefully at his home.
Born Sunday, September 17, 1933 in Selmon, MD, he was the son of the late John William DuVall and the late Ruth Sommerville (Beall) DuVall.
Jim attended Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, MD and later graduated from Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, MD. Jim was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force. He retired from Duron Paint and Wall Coverings in 2000. He was an active member of the Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife Carol Jane DuVall; two daughters, Kimberly D.R. DuVall of Grottoes, VA and Kelly M. Miletich and husband Dean of Frederick, MD; four sisters, Mary Howes of Sandy Spring, MD, Barbara Grider of Stafford, VA, Peggy Andes of Hustonville, KY and Joyce Starling of Wilson, NC; three brothers, Robert DuVall of Warrenton, VA, Barry DuVall of Haymarket, VA and George DuVall of Garner, NC; three grandchildren, Jake DuVall-Early of McGaheysville, VA, Anastasia Miletich of Frederick, MD and Ethan Miletich of Frederick, MD.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Thomas and brothers, John DuVall, Larry DuVall, Donald DuVall, Herbert DuVall and Claude DuVall.
Memorial services will be held Monday, June 14, 2021, at 3:00 pm, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. The family requests that all who attend to please wear a mask.
Interment will be held at a later date at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
