Obituary

 Esther Mae Strite, 85, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away, Sunday, November 1, 2020, at her home.

Born Saturday, December 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Preston Showalter and the late Florence (Martin) Showalter.

She was a member of North Side Mennonite Church. Esther volunteered at World Treasures, Cumberland Valley Relief Center, and Teen Missions International. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Nathan L. Strite; three daughters, LuAnn Baer (Lewis), Lucille Sweeney (Edward), Lisa Stoneham (James); two sons, Dale Strite (Kim), Darrel Strite (Penny); brother, Amos Showalter (Ada); sister, Alice Martin (Chester); 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 11:00 am, at the Mt. Zion Mennonite Church, 20544 Benevola Church Road Boonsboro, MD, with the Pastor Gary Zook officiating.

Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cumberland Valley Relief Center, 4225 Molly Pitcher Highway, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
