Ersel Douglas Hartsock , 72, of Williamsport, MD, passed away, Monday, November 2, 2020, at his home.

Born Monday, June 28, 1948 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Lloyd S. Hartsock and the late Olivia H. (Brown) Hartsock.

Ersel graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1966. He was first employed with Fairchild Aircraft and later retired with more than 30 years in the Maryland State Correctional System as a Correctional Officer at Jessup and Hagerstown. Ersel loved to go fishing and working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife  Norma Jean Hartsock; daughter, Patricia A. Heacock and husband Brian of Hagerstown, MD; son, Donnie P. Hartsock of Waynesboro, PA; step-daughter, Valerie (Carbaugh) Reid of PA; step- son, Michael Carbaugh and wife Carolyn of Hagerstown, MD; brother, Earl L. Hartsock and wife Sharon of Williamsport, MD; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Carillon Knill.

There will be no viewing and private services will be held with the family.

Interment will be at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, Maryland.
