Earlene Grim Fahey, age 86, passed away at Doey's House in Hagerstown, MD, on Monday, October 19,2020, following a long and fulfilling life.
Earlene is survived by her four children Patricia Davis, David Fahey (Kristin), Michael Fahey and Jim Fahey (Sue), son-in-law John Moorhead, along with 15 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren, and cousin Tom Jobe (Alice). Earlene is predeceased by her husband Jim Fahey and her daughter Susan Moorhead, and grandson Patrick Davis.
Earlene was born June 13, 1934, in Winchester, Virginia, to the late Earl Grim and Burnis Funkhouser Grim Betts. She was a loving, dedicated and caring Mother and friend to many and was known for her beautiful coordinated stylish appearance. Earlene was a member of the Fountain Head Country Club Ladies 9 and 18-hole group, Women's Club of Hagerstown, March of Dimes, served on various PTA groups and assisted in fundraising fashion shows. Earlene was also a Washington County Hospital Volunteer for many years. Earlene was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Hagerstown.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at First Christian Church of Hagerstown, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, MD.
In lieu of flowers memorial fund has been established in her name for Doey's House, Hospice of Washington County, Inc. I just received this sad news of Earlene's passing and it was very upsetting. Earlene, was a special person and one that I considered a great friend. I lived next door to her and we had so many wonderful chats and visits. My heart is heavy with grief and my prayers go out to the family. Earlene I will TRULY Miss You.

Earlene was a gracious lady in the truest sense of the word. I met her at First Christian and we lived in the same neighborhood. She was always so kind. She will be missed.

Mrs. Fahey was a long and faithful patron of the library bookmobile. She was also our kindest, most generous and stylish patron. She was truly a gem! The world could use more of her brand of kindness. My sincere condolences to her entire family.
I will miss my dear friend. Earlene and I became friends at church. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. Prayers for the family.
