Rest easy old friend. You fought the good fight. You never gave up. Now, go rest high up on that mountain. Oh, what great times we had in our younger days.

I have not seen Doug in 25 yrs., but he is one of very few men I will most likely always remember. If you wonder why the answer would be the memories of all the great years my family and I spent being a part of the Vikings Football family. Thank you to every member of his family and may he forever rest in peace.

Sharon and myself will miss you very much, you were my best friend. I will never forget you, Bobby and Rick living on the Farm in Boonesboro together. We were young and wild back in the day and had a lot of good times with you and Jane.

I remember Doug being on the sidelines at our Sluggers/Thunder tourneys always cheering and pushing Jamie. He was a great father and coach and I am happy to have gotten to know him through softball. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

What a great guy. My nephew played football for him in the WCJFL and our time there was an awesome experience and we can thank coach Fowler for that. He was great with the players and worked hard to help them better themselves. Our condolences to the family and many friends that will surely miss him.

Doug was not only the greatest coach I ever had but one of the best men I’ve ever known. When he spoke, everyone listened to him because he was so well respected. I still carry with me the life lessons he taught me growing up and I use them today as a father. What he’s taught will be echoed for a very long time. Rest easy Coach! You will be missed.
