Dorothy RosaLee (Bennett) Willis passed away peacefully on January 5th at Meritus Medical Center encircled by the loves of her life, her four children, with lots of love, laughter and tears to comfort her in the journey to be with her Lord and Savior.

RosaLee was born in Inwood, WV on January 14, 1938 to Charles Murten and Dorothy Katherine (Billmyer) Bennett. RosaLee graduated from Musselman High School in Inwood WV. On June 12, 1955 RosaLee married her beloved husband, Robert (Bobby) Jackson Willis. Bobby and RosaLee relocated to Hagerstown MD in 1972 where they would raise their four children in a loving family home. RosaLee was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her husband, home and children above all else. In 1987, Bobby and RosaLee fulfilled a lifelong dream of purchasing and renovating a historic farmhouse, Kenly Manor, where family and friends would gather often for nights of fun, fellowship, games, cards and cocktails. A particular family favorite was the frequent, very spirited games of Trivial Pursuit, in which RosaLee was usually the team MVP.  Bobby and RosaLee had a passion for antiques and over the years operated various antique shops. Her beloved Bobby was called home way too soon in 1991. RosaLee was a pillar of strength to her family, remaining devoted to Bobby for the rest of her life. In her later years, there was no role more important to her than that of mother and Nana.
RosaLee was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, the Newcomers Club of Hagerstown and the Friends ‘n Bloom Garden Club. RosaLee also enjoyed playing bridge, Bunco and Mahjong with her circle of special friends.
RosaLee was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Murten and Dorothy Katherine (Billmyer) Bennett; her husband, Robert (Bobby) Jackson Willis; a brother, Charles Archie Bennett; and very special family friend, Larry Hughes.

My fondest memory of RosaLee was when Erica and I were in high school and RosaLee and Bobby were having a cocktail party in the basement at the Fountainhead house. RosaLee was very animated when Erica and I showed up and she offered us all some "snicky snacks"! We suspected that she might have been a little tipsy! A very funny moment that I have remembered to this day. I will miss her, but I am happy that she is together with her husband that was lost too soon.

I'm startled and sadden to hear of the passing of RosaLee. For many years I worked for her dear husband Bobby, and knew RosaLea as a compassionate, loving, funny wife, mother and friend. To the family, please be assured that both she and Bobby, as well as the family, will be remembered in my heart and prayers, for all they did for me, and my family. I was treated to having breakfast with her and Brian Shrader about a year ago, and she was just as lively, funny, and full of energy as I always remembered her to be. Love and miss you RosaLea.

Rosa Lee was a long time friend, a source of common sense and humility. Her devotion to her family was second to none! She also had a wonderful sense of humor and had a huge laugh! Her kids are a shining example of the kind of mother she was and her kids and friends will miss her immensely! We all need more people like Rosa Lee in our lives! God bless!

It’s is with much saddeness that I read about your Moms passing. She was a great friend to me over the many years I knew her. We always had something to chat about talked about solving the problems of the world of antiques and retail. I could always rely on her to find me answers and teach me things as well. I only wish I could have talked to her one more time. I will miss her greatly My hugs go to you all… her children.., she adored you all. Rest on Peace Rosalee. Love Cindy
