Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home
David Ira Geyer, 74, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Monday, September 13, 2021, at Doey's House. Dave left us at 12:57 am, which is the time he would always get his 2nd wind. In true David fashion, he took his sweet old time because being on time and making decisions was not his strongest points.
Born Thursday, May 8, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Eugene "Lefty" Geyer and the late Mary C. (Martin) Geyer.
He graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1966. He retired from Mack Truck in 2007, after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of The Elks and the Williamsport American Legion Post 202. David was United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed playing poker and we know there's a seat waiting for him. He also enjoyed collecting coins. But his happiest times were sitting on the patio by the pond with family, friends, his fur babies, Sambucca and Maggie Mae, and especially the love of his life Robin. He loved and was loved by his girls Keleigh and Matilda.
He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years; Robin (Rodeffer) Geyer; daughter, Keleigh Chaney and husband David; granddaughter, Matilda Chaney; two brothers, Martin Geyer and wife Ann and Jere Geyer and wife Betty; cousin, AC Myers; many nephews and nieces and his best friend and almost twin, Rick "Ole Lucky" Kagle.
Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, Friday, September 17, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742 or Pawssible Beginnings Rescue Inc., 15128 Hicksville Rd., Clear Spring, MD 21722.

Dave was a great guy and friend. Jeff worked closely with him for years at Mack and they also shared many other interests recreational and business outside of Mack. He was a friend and will be missed. Hugs Robin and family.
