Obituary

We are shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of Danny M. Kiblinger, a friend, co-worker and faithful churchman, at the age of 61.  Born in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia on November 26, 1960 to the late Charles Warren Kiblinger and Shirley Ann Kiblinger. His family soon moved to Hagerstown where Danny would grow up and live his entire life. He was a graduate of North Hagerstown High in 1979. Though once employed in publishing, Danny worked most of his life in a variety of retail positions, including Sears and most recently Lowe's. Customer service was one of his gifts. Danny was very friendly, sociable and had a wide network of friends and acquaintances. He had a deep interest in railroads and Hagerstown history. Danny had an amazing memory for names, places and dates. He had a beautiful singing voice. Danny is survived by a half-brother, Carl Durk, his wife, Teresa and many, many friends. A memorial service for Danny will be held at Haven Lutheran Church (1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown MD) at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Inurnment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD, immediately after the service. If you have a particular memory or comment appropriate for a eulogy for Danny, please email it to [email protected] by July 5 and we will do our best to include it in the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Danny’s congregation, Haven Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD. Online condolences may be expressed at www.douglasfiery.com

Man, this hits me like a ton of bricks. I just saw him 2-3 weeks ago. We gave each other a hug. He was a great friend for so many decades. He always had a kind word, always supportive in everything I was doing. No doubt Heaven now has a new angel but that's nothing new for you Danny, you were one here on earth.

ive only worked with him for 6 months, but he became a great friend to me. Always made me laugh, we worked almost everyday together. when I heard the news I was shocked, I came into work the next day I thought I saw him my heart flew out my mouth and dropped as fast when I knew it wasn't him. I was truly shocked and saddened to hear that Danny passed away suddenly. We grew up in the same neighborhood and remained friends. He was always super friendly and caring. We would chat on social media alot and I would see him every so often at Lowes. He will be missed. May you rest in peace Danny.

"Mr. Dan" was a regular customer at Friendlys where I served him often. He was always genuinely kind and personable. He liked to talk and share his life experiences and knowledge of Hagerstown. He was very customer service oriented and a hard worker. After I stopped working at Friendlys, I would still frequently see him at Lowe's and he always made an effort to chat and see how life was treating me. Dan was just a really nice person and I'm going to miss him.

Danny, it's so hard to believe you've left this world, and are now with the Lord, your mom, and dad. I can't imagine who and what you've seen. I know there will be dancing and singing in Heaven and you're sure to doing both! It makes me smile to know you're no longer struggling and you're smiling from ear to ear. You were the first guy to make me feel special, and I'll always remember that. I hope you give my mom and dad a hug when you see them. Until my friend...
