Christopher Nelson, 67, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Monday, April 26, 2021, at the Meritus Medical Center.
Born Wednesday, August 5, 1953 in Ruislip, England, he was the son of the late Robert McDowell Nelson and the late Jane Ellen (Strite) Nelson.
A dedicated father and husband, Chris overcame difficult struggles and always treated others with kindness. All those who know him would comment on his gentle and kind nature.
Chris loved animals and the outdoors and always maintained a beautiful and productive garden full of life.
He is survived by his wife Karen Nelson; son, Robert McDowell Nelson, III; two brothers, Robert M. Nelson and, Daniel B. Nelson; sister, Nancy Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Avenue, Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Msgr. J. Bruce Jarboe officiating.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.

Wow, Chris. What a shock. You will be missed - you had an awful lot of friends in the online painting and papering community. We worked together for over 10 years, and I so very much appreciated the honesty and dependability that you brought to the job every day. I am sorry that I missed the mass - I just found out today - the 30th. Condolences to family and others that were close to Chris.
My deepest sympathies to all who loved Chris! He was my cool, slightly older cousin & I have fond memories of our family times together. I’m so sorry.
