Obituary

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF BENJAMIN KWAKU PATRICK GBORDZI A.K.A ZIGBOR

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21, 4)

“Life is like a flame of candle shining beautifully today, tomorrow it disappears. We then return to the life of non-existence. But there is hope because we are in the Lord’s memory.”

Benjamin Kwaku Patrick Gbordzi a.k.a Zigbor, was born on the 1st of October, 1969 in Accra to Mr. Oscar Gbordzi (the late) and Madam Rejoice Gbordzi, both from Tegbi in Volta Region of Ghana.

Benjamin is/was the 8th child of his parents.

Benjamin started his primary education very early at Calvary School and was very intelligent in school. In September 1982, Ben passed his Common Entrance Examination with very good grades and so gained admission to Presbyterian Boys Secondary  School (Presec), Legon, one of the top secondary schools in the country, in Accra Ghana, where he read General Arts and completed his Ordinary Level Certificate Examination in June 1987.

Benjamin Zigbor read other courses after Presec, as he had a dream of becoming a Pilot, and worked with some companies and individuals for some years both in Accra and outside Accra.

In the year 1999, he joined his fiancée then, Regina, in the USA, where they got married and had two children, Brian and Briana. As fate will have it they both went their separate ways in the year 2010.

Later in the year 2010, Ben met Angie and they got married and had two children, Benjamin Junior and Bryleigh.

Benjamin is a very fun person to be around, very loving, caring and generous.

Benjamin was briefly unwell in the early days of November 2022 and was hoping to get better soon to get back to his bobbly self and to touch base with his siblings and friends, but alas, the Lord who has a set time for everyone here on earth, called Ben to eternity in the early hours of Thursday the 10th of November 2022 in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Benjamin left behind four children and their mums in the USA and his larger family both home and abroad.

Fare thee well Benjamin Kwaku

Fare thee well Zigbor

May you have a good place with the Lord

Amen

Til this very day I am still in shock and don't want to believe that you are gone. (You left too soon).....We just spoke a couple of days ago, before I was notified of your passing. It hurts to know that what we talked about will never be fulfilled. Just know that I will never forget you and our special memories that we shared. (We had so much fun, you always made me laugh even when I didn't feel like laughing. Your smile always made me feel everything is going to be alright) We've lost touch many times, but somehow we managed to find our way back to the bond we have, the special friendship we share...(All the good times, the drives & hanging out with friends) From Chicago to Gaithersburg, Fredrick to Hagerstown. We build alot of memories, your friendship never changed, even tho I walked away a few times) Idk if you were giving me hints, but the last deep Convo we had, stays in my mind. And has me thinking would things have been different?? Anyways all that matters now is, you are no longer in pain and can finally rest in peace. I will keep you always in my heart and pray one day we meet again in a different world. Til then continue to rest my love my dearest special friend......Love the Gal who got away (that's what you always say, everytime we talk) Dang man I'm sure gon miss you......Until then

I am so heartbroken for my niece Angie, little Ben, Bryleigh, Ben’s other two children and his family. He was so young, and it’s so sad. Ben was always so kind to our family and will be fondly remembered. We loved their family traditions, and we will remember the good times shared. May he rest in the peace of his Heavenly Father. Until we all meet again.

Zigbor, You call me Sister Adiki, I am short of words. Met you at Madina New Rd. And we all came to the states. Even though we have never met here. We chat often. On the two platform that we are on. You will make sure to pull everyone around Madina New roads neighborhood and call me to add them. You were much much fun. I will miss the music that you post. And the red card you will never miss, when someone repeated anything on the platform. You humor and your funny soft voice when we spoke. The most I will miss is when you act naughty and i call. Your voice as it might sound. I know that you did something, yet you will hear my advice and thanks me. May your soul rest in perfect peace. dua, dua, dua.

Ben my friend, We've known each other for 49 years, and it's very sad and extremely difficult to see you go like this. We stuck together from Calvary to Presec till now. You were very kind, and you had a marvelous sense of humor. I still remember when we visited and ate in each other's houses back in primary School. You will be fondly missed. May the God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob keep you and be with you till we meet again at Jesu feet. Amen
