Vincent "Tom" Thomas Lindsay, 91, of Hagerstown, MD, passed peacefully in his home after a brief illness on, Saturday, April 20, 2019.
Born Tuesday, January 31, 1928 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence Lindsay and the late Iva (Miller) Lindsay.
Tom graduated from Hagerstown High School. He later worked for 14 years at Standard Oil and then retired from National Gypsum in Long Beach, California after 30 years of service.
He was a member of Fountain Head Country Club, the American Legion, Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Charter Member of the First Hose Company of Hagerstown and the Elks Club. He attended Otterbein Church in Waynesboro, PA.
Tom loved to golf and spend time with his family. He was enormously proud of and adored by his grandchildren.
Tom leaves behind his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Lindsay; children, Bridget Vega and husband Patrick, Joseph Lindsay, Dawn Marie Silverman and husband Henry, Tom Lindsay and wife Cindy, Gwen Flory and Pam Grace; grandchildren, Lindsay Vega, J.J. Lindsay, Ian Silverman, Schuyler Silverman; and other grandchildren, Christopher, Erin, Sarah, Laura and Josh.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Lindsay; and two sisters, Marie Knapp and Dolores Shaffer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 2:00 pm, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD.

A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. One of the very "Good Guys" who we will all miss. We would all be fortunate to experience the love and admiration that Tom experienced from those who were close to him.
