Obituary

Vincent Sama, 91, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at his home.

Born Thursday, July 19, 1928 in Italy, he was the son of the late Peter Sama and the late Antonetta (Ramogida) Sama.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon leaving the service, Vincent went to the RCA Radio Institute in New York to earn his license as a Radio Engineer. He then went to Martinsburg, WV to work at the radio station WEPM and later worked at WARK in Hagerstown, retiring in 1976.  He was also employed at Fairchild and Pangborn Corp. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge No. 378 and the Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.

He is survived by his sister, Carmela Sama Ayers of Staten Island, NY; sister-in-law, Ann Sama of New York; adopted daughter, Ruthann Palmer and husband, Jeff; Cassie and KK; special companion, Dawne Vail of Sumter, SC; and Martha Beauchamp and her grandson, Jeffrey of Durham, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2018, Betty Louise Sama; sister, Catherine Sama Augulis; and brother, Frank Sama.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 22, 2020, at 1:00 pm, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD, with Msgr. J. Bruce Jarboe officiating.

The family strongly requests memorial donations be made to a charity of one's choice.

The family would like to thank Tessa Burnett for the excellent care given to Vincent.
