Obituary

Roy James Moss Jr., 71, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away, Friday, April 24, 2020, at Doey's House.

Born Saturday, August 21, 1948 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Roy James Moss Sr. and the late Ila Belle Moss.

He graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1966. Roy was employed with Fahrney Keedy Memorial Home for more than 20 years. He was an avid hunter.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ruth Moss; sister, Christine McCardell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Austin Moss and brother, Joseph Sommerville.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD, 21742.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.

We were sorry to hear of Jimmy’s passing!! He was related to me on the Castle/Moss side of the family!! Jimmy was my best man at our wedding over 47 years ago!! Again, so sorry to hear this tragic news!!

I will always remember playing football at Boonboro High School with you and when you would come over to Mt. Briar and we would play more football on Sunday. After the season ended we would go hunting up in the mountain. You were a great friend, a real Warrior.
