Rosa Mae Russ , 85, Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Doey's House.

Born Tuesday, August 28, 1934 in Elkton, VA, she was the daughter of and the late Loma Mae Frye.

Rosa attended Lucy Simms School in Harrisonburg, VA. She was a member of Sharon Temple No.# 160 Rainbow Council No.# 84, where she was also a past State President. Rosa was a member of St. Hebrew Methodist Church in Elkton, VA.She was an avid Bingo player, and had a love for cooking. Rosa's true joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ann Frye of Hagerstown, MD, Jatrisha "Molly" Green of Hagerstown, MD and Stevette Bryant of Frederick, MD; three sons, Robert Spencer Frye and wife Tina of Harrisburg, PA, James Albert Frye of Hagerstown, MD and Marvin Green of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren; Alesia, Debra, Ebony, Tiffany and Renee and numerous great grandchildren; special cousin, Sally Martin of Elkton, VA; special friend, Debra Reynolds of Hagerstown, MD.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jasper Green.

Private graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 South Potomac Street Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Mulbury officiating.

In an effort to comply with the Governor's restrictions and still meet the families wishes, the family will receive friends and families at separate times at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD on Saturday, March 21, 2020. FRIENDS are able to attend from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and FAMILY is able to attend from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.

May God‘s mercy,peace and protection be with this family with the loss of Ms Russ I didn’t know the lady personally but I happen to run into her granddaughter at a seafood restaurant on Friday I can feel the pain but I also recognize the love and gratitude for the grandmother peace and blessings of God be with the family!
