Robert Lee Mullinax, 82, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Saturday, June 1, 2019, at his home.
Born Thursday, March 11, 1937 in Barberton, OH, he was the son of the late Clyde L. Mullinax and Endra Mullinax.
Robert was a graduate from Barberton High School. He then attended Georgia Tech and later graduated from the University of Maryland.
Robert served in the U.S. Army where he retired at the rank of Major, after serving in the Vietnam War.
Robert also worked as a computer programmer at First Data for 10 years.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple.
Robert was a drum major in his high school band, he played the french horn, loved to sing, was Heritage Academy's number one sports fan, helped in the development of the radio station, WHGT, loved to travel and was an avid supporter of youth groups and youth ministries.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nadine D. Mullinax; 4 children, Denise A. Ferguson and husband Timothy, Stephen G. Mullinax and wife Holly, Joy Baker and husband Michael, and Michael C. Mullinax; 4 grandchildren, Ashley M. Mullinax, Brittany L. Coratolo and husband Jeffrey, Jessica M. Mullinax and Nathaniel W. Aikens; a great-granddaughter, Sawyer D. Coratolo; and two sisters, Lucille Smith and Ernestine Mullinax.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Frances Mathis.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 10:00 am, at Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Ed Hampton officiating. Interment will be at the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, MD, at 2:00 pm.
Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
