Michael and I were hired at the same time to work on elevators and escalators at Metro. He was dedicated to his duty: passed the QEI (qualified elevator/escalator inspector test) and driving more than an hour daily to work. He will be missed by all. May his soul rest in perpetual peace.

I met Mike when entered into the ELES apprenticeship class in 2004. I've never actually had the pleasure of working with Mike but, would see him from time to time during shift change. Mike always had a story to tell and was always ready to work and willing to help in any way that he could. Mike will truly be missed by his WMATA family!! Rest easy my friend!

We were both from Metro's ELES '04 class. Everybody that knew Mike has a great story about Mike. Big guy with big spirit and generosity. He was a good friend and the only Harley (Shovel) guy I ever met at Metro...he walked into class one day and handed me intake valves for my bike that I never even asked for, but needed. He wouldn't take a dime. That's just the way he rolls. I'm gonna miss Mike....glad I ran into him a couple of months ago. It had been a while. Prayers for the family. RIP my friend.

Mike was amazing neighbor. Over the last five years, Mike would always lend a helping hand if ever needed. He was a proud father and grandfather sharing stories with me on occasional talks in the driveway. My heart is broken for the family. Prayers are with each of you as you take one day at a time. He will surely be missed here at Lindsay Lane.

I wish to share my condolences to Michael Gallagher's family. We worked together on the red line section of the subway system at Metro. Michael was a good friend. An honest and hard worker who spoke proudly of his children. I wish his family the best. May you rest in peace, my friend.
