Kenneth Lloyd Mason, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, March 20, 2020, at his home.
Born Friday, July 1, 1932 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late William H. Mason and the late Sarah Ann (Kidwell) Mason.
He graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1949. Ken was a U.S. Navy veteran and attached to the USS Libra out of Norfolk, VA. He was a long standing member of the IBEW Local 307, retiring after 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown. Ken loved fishing along the Potomac River in Williamsport and crab fishing in Ocean City, MD. He enjoyed playing bluegrass music, especially on his mandolin.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eileene Mason; son, Kenneth Lloyd Mason, Jr.; daughter, Brenda Lee Murphy; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann Springer; brothers, Jerry Mason, Harold Mason, Bruce "Boots" Mason, Bill Mason, and Woodrow Mason and sister, Hazel Avey.
Services and interment will be held private with the family.
The funeral home will open for visitors on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

I knew Kenny Mason when I lived on Buena Vista Ave. He was a grade ahead of me at W. Washington St school. Kenny was a really nice person. Everyone liked him. God Rest him.
Pops was a part of my life for 45 yrs. He was like a dad to me. Im going to miss talking to him. He is with patty taken care of her.

Mr.Mason was such a big part of my childhood. I remember coming over to your all house to see Patty. I remember playing Barbies with Patty under your tree in the back yard. I remember he always smiled and took the time to talk to me. He was a very sweet man. RIP Mr.Mason
Pappap was my rock. He tought me alot of things growing up. He was like a father to me. I would sit on his lap and he would play his music. He tought me to play ball, fishing and crabbing and much more. There wasn't anything he couldn't do. I love you always pappap.
