Obituary

Joseph Hudspeth , 71, of  Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at his home.

Born Monday, December 1, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late William Hudspeth and the late Anne Jacobs.

Joseph was a pilot for Henson Airlines and Piedmont Airlines, he later retired from MCTC in 2015.He enjoyed history, especially studying World War II. He liked riding motorcycles and shooting.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Ruth E. Hudspeth; son, Alex J. Hudspeth and wife Abby of Hagerstown, MD; grandson, Shepard J. Hudspeth of Hagerstown, MD; two sisters, Terrie Lowe of Martinsburg, WV and Wendy Hudspeth of Pittsburgh, PA; two brothers, Steve Hudspeth and William Hudspeth both of Pittsburgh, PA.

Services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 4:30 pm, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Dr. Renee Mackey officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Interment will be private.

Joe and I were good friends. We sat together every day at MCTC at roll call. We talked history and he loved telling me stories about flying. I'll miss him. He was an all around good person. I'm sorry for his family's loss.
