JoAnn Waters Williams, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Doey's House.

Born January 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edward T. Waters and S. Pauline Wyand Dagenhart. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul "Gene" Williams of 52 years in November 2005 and special aunt, Dottie Roulette in March 2016.

She was a graduate of Boonsboro High School.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Rick E. Williams & Cynthia of Hagerstown, MD, Susie Sholty & Terry of Hagerstown, MD and Kurt A. Williams & Julie of Keedysville, MD; six grandchildren, Katie and Sara Williams, Nicholas Sholty & wife Alysia and Meg Flynn and husband, Kevin, Klaire and Taylor Williams; three great grandchildren, Ella Sholty, Capri Flynn and Crue Flynn. Her sister Kathy Hoffman of Keedysville and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was born and raised in Keedysville where she lived for 60 years. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church of Keedysville before transferring her membership to Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Hagerstown, where she was active and served on many committees.

JoAnn was employed through the years at Dorby Maunfacturing, Fairchild Industries (Rohr), as well as farming.
After retirement she enjoyed winters in Florida with her husband where she loved hobbies, such as painting, bocce ball and riding her bike.

Services will be held Friday, May 10, 2019, at 11:00 am, at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Avenue Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Randall Reid  officiating.

Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, Thursday, May 9, 2019, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Private burial with the family will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville, MD.

Memorial donations may be made to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742 or Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21740.
