Irene M. Spizzo
Irene M. Reeder Spizzo, 93, died on November 24, 2018 at Broadmore Assisted Living, Hagerstown, Maryland under the care of Hospice. She was the daughter of the late Melvin W. Reeder and Myree Shank Reeder Shank.
She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1943, and was employed by Roney Brothers and Martin Storage. In 1985, she retired as secretary of Pangborn Elementary School. Irene volunteered with First Christian Church, the Arthritis Foundation, Easter Seals, and Homewood Retirement Center. She also loved to duckpin and turf bowl. Irene was a member of First Christian Church since 1939.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Tullio “Tony” Spizzo; an infant son, Rick Alan; two sisters, Virginia Snider and Betty Weigand; and a brother, Harold Reeder. She is survived by daughter, Donna M. Follin, son-in-law, Robert “Rocky” Follin, grand-sons, Christopher and Eric (Sara), and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Lynn.
A private memorial service will be held at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD at the convenience of the family.
