George F. Wible, Sr., 70, of Newark, NJ, passed away, Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in the company of family and friends.
Born Monday, September 12, 1949 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert W. Wible and the late Alva "Jersey" Wible. 
George attended North Hagerstown High School and later served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  After 25 years of honorable service, he retired from the U.S. Army and joined the Maryland Correctional Institute, retiring once more after 14 years of service.  
He was very active in local Gold Wing motorcycle chapters and enjoyed riding from sea to shining sea with his late beloved wife, Debra J. Wible.
After relocating to Memphis to be closer to family, he became an active member of the community and could often be found socializing with close neighbors and beautifying the neighborhood.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Wible Baxter and husband, Matt, of Memphis, TN; son, George F. Wible, Jr and partner, Julie, of San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren, Aiden C. Wible, of San Antonio, TX and George S. Baxter, of Memphis, TN; as well as three nieces, Tammy M. Wible, Ashley N. Wible and Alva Sue Hetzer, and a nephew, Chuck Wible, Sr. and their children.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Ann Wible, and his brothers Melvin W. Wible and Bobby Wible.
Family will receive friends Friday, November 8, 2019 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.
Services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Betty Jones officiating.
Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W Washington St, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project,
