Doris Lee Baker, 77, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away, Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the Meritus Medical Center.
Born Thursday, March 19, 1942 in Funkstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Wyncoop Shipley and the late Thelma Irene (Bailey) Shipley.
She graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1960. Doris operated her own home daycare for 11 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, David Baker; children, Tina Boward, Wanda Baker (William Smith), David Baker, John Baker (Tracie Binkley), and Tracey Crider and husband, Eddie Crider, III; sisters, Lois Green, Karen Duffey, Beverly Baker, Joyce Fritz, Pamela Grimes; two brothers, Robert and Richard Shipley; 2 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Ann Miller, and Anita Louise Hadley.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family at her request.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.
