Donald Walter Shenberger of Clear Spring, MD passed away on June 20, 2020 at age 77.
Donnie was born December 14, 1942 in York, PA to Walter F. Shenberger and Laura Kite (Snyder). A Vietnam Veteran and a true entrepreneur, he was at various times a farmer, truck driver, insurance salesman, and business owner of Mercersburg Printing Inc. He worked hard to provide a happy, comfortable life for his wife, Ruth, and eight children. His love for God was the most important thing in his life and, after finding Christ in his youth, he was part of the Church of God Universal in Hagerstown, MD for more than 60 years. He traveled around the world to share the gospel through his testimony and song and supported churches in several countries. He will be remembered as a kind and humble man who truly loved everyone he came in contact with and lived his life as an example to others.
He treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Donnie is survived by his true love of 51 years, Ruth, his son David, son Douglas (Julie), son Dustin (Dianne), daughter Julie Swain (Daniel), son Duane (Heidi), son Dennis (Marybeth), son Dean (Dannielle), son Devin (Laura), stepmother Mary Shenberger, and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Dane. He will be sorely missed by his family and all who were touched by his life.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Church of God, Universal 12819 Point Salem Road, Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Greg Tyler officiating.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday June 23, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD

The Filipino Saints here in the Philippines & those in other countries are extending their deepest sympathy and condolences. You are all in our thoughts and prayers, praying for strength, peace and comfort for you and your family from our dear Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ . . .We are all keeping you especially Auntie Ruthie, trusting God to embrace her with His love and grace for comfort . . . Words are very hard to find when our hearts are grieving. I know how it feels thinking your father will no longer by your side. Your Dad is so dear to our family & the Filipino Saints who were able to meet him personally during his several visits to the Philippine Islands. We thank God for his holy life and his love for God's work not only in Baguio/Benguet but for The Church of God in the Philippines as a whole. Truly great is his reward in heaven and he is now safely in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. We will surely miss our dearest Uncle Don . . . Love and prayers for all, Bro.
