Brenda Irene Mellott, 68, of  Martinsburg , WV, passed away, Saturday, January 26, 2019, at  Ravenwood Lutheran Village.

Born Sunday, October 8, 1950 in Hagerstown , MD, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L Hawbaker and the late Mildred  (Seal) Snyder. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles E. Thomas, Sr. 

Brenda was last employed at the Delmar Inn. She was a member of the Amvets Post 10.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann M. Thomas of Martinsburg, WV; son, Chuck (Missy) Thomas; two grandchildren, Tate (Josie) Thomas and Kenneth (Ashley) Hawbaker; two great-grandchildren, Lilly and Logan; two sisters, Cathy Hawbaker and Mary Brindle & companion Jackie; four brothers, James (Betty) Towns, Leon (Beth) Towns, Harry Hawbaker and Kenneth Hawbaker; numerous nieces , nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hawbaker, Sr., brother, Billy Hawbaker, step mother, June Hawbaker and step father, Donald Snyder.

Services will be held Friday, February 1, 2019, at 1:00 pm, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Stephanie Steele officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Interment will be at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.
