Tyler Lee Shifler, 28, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, September 25, 2017,

Born Tuesday, July 25, 1989 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of J. Michael Shifler of Clear Spring, MD and Pamela Ellen (Benningfield) Shifler of Hagerstown, MD.

Tyler was not a fan of "routine" from the very beginning, he decided to be born at home in the hall, while his mom and dad were preparing to leave for the hospital. His father an experienced HPD officer at the time delivered their "Hall of Fame" baby without difficulty, before an ambulance was called, to take mother and baby to the hospital. He was in his fathers arms when he took his first breath and in his fathers arms when he took his last.

Tyler grew up to be a tall, handsome, strong, athletic, kind, gentle, sensitive young man with a endearing smile. He would do anything for anybody and he knew how to do so many things, from playing guitar and keyboard (self taught), to building and construction, to installing sound systems in cars, to fixing computers and other electronic and technical equipment, to landscaping and giving his dad haircuts. He was an excellent chef and prepared many "healthy meals" for his dad as well as packing him a healthy lunch for work.
Tyler loved kids and animals and they loved him back. His two dogs Roxy and Conky are in obvious morning.
Tyler had God given athletic ability, playing from sports from a very young age through high school. He was a Little League home run champion in 2001.
He graduated from Clear Spring High School in 2007, where he excelled in baseball, basketball and football, and he was homecoming King in 2007.
Tyler was last employed with UPS in Hagerstown, MD

He is survived by his sister, Cassidy B. Shifler of Hagerstown, MD; two brothers, Michael A. Shifler and Casey L. Shifler both of Clear Spring, MD; paternal grandmother, Karen E. Shifler of Boonsboro, MD; maternal grandmother, Virginia Lee Benningfield of Hagerstown, MD; numerous, aunts, uncles & cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather, John W. Shifler, Maternal Grandfather, Edgar L. Benningfield.

Services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 10:00 am, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Steven L. McCarty officiating.
