 Mae Florence Koontz, 91, of  Chambersburg, PA, and formerly of Hagerstown, MD passed away, Monday, September 11, 2017, at Menno Haven in Chambersburg, PA.

 
Born Monday, January 18, 1926 in Hagerstown, MD, daughter of the late Merle T. Kendall, Sr. and Ruth V. (Moats) Kendall, she was preceded in death by her husband  Paul David Koontz.
 
Mae was employed with Corning Glass, retiring after 29 years of service. She was a member of the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church. Mae enjoyed league bowling at Longmeadow Bowl and in her earlier years was a roller skating champion.
Mae's greatest love was her family ... and everyone knew it.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie M. Gordon of Needmore, PA; two sons, Ronald D. Koontz and wife Nancy of Clear Spring, MD, and P. Dennis Koontz & wife Jean of Chambersburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Michael D. Koontz, Steven L. Koontz, Bryan S. Koontz, Donnie L. Gordon, Trudy K. (Gordon) Mesaros, Jodi R. (Gordon) Clark, and Hannah E. (Koontz) Richards. 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her son in law Dale L. Gordon and brother Merle T. Kendall.
 
Services will be held Friday, September 15, 2017, at 11:00 am, at the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, 17904 Binkley Avenue Maugansville, MD, with Pastor Richard Heckman and Pastor Chad Carter officiating.
 
Family will receive friends at the church on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Family and friends are also encouraged to stay following the service at the church, to continue to celebrate Mae's life and share a meal with the family.
 
Private interment will be at the Broadfording Church Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, 17904 Binkley Avenue Maugansville, MD 21767.
 
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.
