 Russell Calvin Ausherman, Jr., 83, of  Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, August 25, 2017, at the Meritus Medical Center.

 
Born Monday, October 30, 1933 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Russell Calvin Ausherman, Sr. and the late Edna Irene (Baechtel) Ausherman.
 
Russ was employed with Eastalco in Buckeystown, MD, retiring in 1996 after 27 years of service. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Eagles Inc. of Waynesboro and S.O.A.R.
 
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Celia Smith Ausherman; two sons, Donald Wayne Ausherman & wife Valerie of Laurel, MD and Brent Edwin Ausherman & wife Peggy of Ringgold, MD; two daughters, Lisa Faye Barkdoll & husband Tim of Smithsburg, MD and Laura Jean Harbaugh & husband Jeff of Williamsport, MD; sister, Bette Longanecker of Hagerstown, MD; eight grandchildren, Crystal Mellott & husband Cory, Amber Taylor & husband Brian, Jacob Ausherman, Meghan Rager & husband Butchie, Casey Ausherman, Allison Ruth, Carlee Harbaugh and Tyler Harbaugh; two great grandchildren, Liam Mellott and Declan Taylor.
 
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Maxine Marcey, Edna Hoover, Mary Clark, Jeanne Monn and Nancy Hebb, brothers, Gary Ausherman and Jack Ausherman.
 
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at 11:00 am, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 21006 Twin Springs Drive, Smithsburg, MD, with the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating.
 
Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
 
Interment will be private.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 21006 Twin Springs Drive, Smithsburg, MD 21783 or to the charity of your choice.
