"Dr. Plavcan and Bill's family: "Billy" was a student of my sister in English Class in 1975. She called him Billy and always said how nice he was. When my sister experienced a stroke in May of 1977, Bill asked Dr. Plavcan to look in on her at Wash Co Hosp and tell him how she was getting along and Dr. P visited her often. I met Bill when she was considering Loyalton. My aunt was living there at the time and Bill graciously gave me a tour. He was very pleasant to me, and my sister was happy I had finally met him. God's word says,"My grace is sufficient for thee..." My prayer for you all is God's comfort and peace now and in the days ahead. Blessings!!

"Dearest Dr. Bill, Becky and family:
I was so surprised and sorry to see Bill's obituary online. While losing Fred 2 years ago was devastating to me, I just cannot fathom how difficult it would be to lose one of my sons. You will be in my thoughts and prayers and I know that your wonderful family will give you great comfort during this time.
Most sincerely, Rita Downs"

"Bill I just got the news today! Ever since I seen you in November Ive been wanting to call and catch up on our football chats and life in general just like old times. "I was saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I graduated with Bill from NHHS in 1977. I also attended North Potomac Middle School with Bill. My fondest memories of Bill were playing pinochle during our lunch period at North Potomac Middle School. Some of the other members of the pinochle group that I remember were Billy Reynolds and Bill Zinkland."
- Robin Wachter Barry
"Bill and I were close friends (and freshman dorm neighbors) during his time at Ohio Wesleyan University in the late 1970s. While we hadn't been in touch for quite a while, I always remembered his easy laugh, his knack for meeting new people, and the fun we had on a few trips together -- once to his home in Hagerstown and once to fish for largemouth bass (unsuccessfully) somewhere in Central Florida. Sounds like Bill stayed as vital and full of life up until the end ... he will be missed. My sincere condolences to the Plavcan family.

"Dear Plavcan Family,
We are spending the winter in Florida and heard Jerry Doyle play at a church this evening. In speaking with him after the service, he told us about Bill. Our hearts ache for you all. I knew Bill as a bright and capable student in my classes and a wonderful young man, who made a contribution to his community as he served others. I am deeply saddened personally and want to tell you we will keep the Plavcan family in our thoughts and prayers.Words are inadequate for this moment.
Our Love to You All,
Vaughn and Cindy Crowl"
